Reading from the Gospel, Friday January 15 (click here)

   Friday, January 15
Daily Gospel (Mk 2, 1-12): entered again into Capernaum; soon after word had spread that he was at home. and so many people that even before the door was already place, and he preached the word.

And he came bringing a paralytic carried by four men. When they could not come because of the crowd, they removed the roof where he was and, through the opening made, down the mat on which the paralytic lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

Some scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, "Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins but God only? ". But immediately Jesus knowing in his spirit that they felt inside, he tells them: "Why do you reason in your hearts? What is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, Arise, take up thy bed and walk? 'But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins says the paralytic, 'I say to you, get up, take your mat and go home.' "

She got up and immediately took the mat and went out in the sight of all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, "Never seen anything like this."
