Reading from the Gospel, Sunday, 27 December (click here)

  Sunday 27 December
Daily Gospel (Lk 2, 41-52): Jesus' parents went every year to Jerusalem for the Passover feast. When I was twelve years old, they went up as usual to the party and, turning after the days, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem without his parents knowing it. But supposing him to be in the company, they went a day's journey, and sought him among their relatives and acquaintances; but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking him.

It happened that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them; All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. When they saw him they were astonished, and his mother said, "Son, why have you done this? Look, your father and I, anxious, we were looking for. " He said, "Why did you seek Me? Wist ye not that I must be in my Father's house? ". But they did not understand what he meant.

He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them. His mother kept all these things in her heart. Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.
