Reading the Holy Gospel, Thursday September 8 (click here)

Thursday, September 8, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Daily Gospel (Lk 6, 27-38): At that time, Jesus told his disciples, "I tell you that I hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse , pray for those who defame. When someone strikes you on one cheek, offer also the other; and who takes your cloak, do not withhold your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, give, and take yours, do not demand it. And what ye would that men, I will also do you also. If you love those who love you, what thank have ye? Even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do to you, what thank have ye? For even sinners do that much! If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what thank have ye? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much. Rather, love your enemies; do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.

"Be merciful, as your Father is compassionate Judge not lest ye be judged, condemn not and ye shall not be condemned:. Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give and you shall receive;. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing, will in the halda of your dresses. For with the measure you you measure it will be measured. "
