Reading the Holy Gospel, Sunday, 25 September (click here)

 Sunday, 25 September
Daily Gospel (Lk 16, 19-31): At that time Jesus said to the Pharisees: "There was a rich man who dressed in purple and fine linen and feast magnificently every day festivities. And a poor man named Lazarus, who laid at his gate, covered with sores, who longed to fill with what fell from the rich man's table, but no one did. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

It so happened that the poor man died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. Being in Hades in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And, shouting, he said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip in water the tip of his finger and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.' But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that you received your good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus, on the contrary, its evils; And now, here he is comforted and you are tormented. And besides, between us and you a great chasm, so that those who would pass from hence to you can not interposes; or there where we can go. "

He replied: 'But I beg you, father, send him to the house of my father, for I have five brothers, to give them testimony, lest they also come into this place of torment.' Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the prophets; you hear them '. He said, 'No, father Abraham; but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will become. " He replied, 'If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither convinced even if someone rises from the dead'.
