Daily Gospel (Lk 9, 18-22): It happened that while Jesus was praying alone, were with him and asked the disciples: Who do people say I am ?. They replied, Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; others, that one of the old prophets had risen. He said: And who do you say that I am ?. Peter replied, The Christ of God. But he commanded them strongly not to tell this to anyone. He said: The Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised again the third day.
