 Wednesday, March 30
 Gospel of the day (Luke 24, 13-35): That same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem, and talking with each other about everything that had happened. And it happened that, while they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came and went with them; but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.

He said, "What are you discussing as you walk along?". They stood with sorrowful air. One of them, named Cleopas replied, "Are you the only resident of Jerusalem who does not know the things these days have passed in it?". He said, "What things?". They told him, "Lo de Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people; how our chief priests and magistrates sentenced to death and crucified him. We hoped it would be He who would deliver Israel; but, with all these things, now the third day since this happened. The fact is that some women from our group have astounded us because they went at dawn to the tomb, and did not find his body, they came saying they had seen a vision of angels who declared he was alive. They were also some of our people to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but he did not see him. " He said, "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! He ought not Christ to have suffered these things and enter into his glory? ". And it beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained what he had on him in all the Scriptures.

As they approached the village where they were going, he started to move forward. But they forced telling him: "Stay with us, for evening and the day is almost over." And he went in to stay with them. It happened when he got to the table with them, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it and gave it to them.

Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, but he vanished from their sight. They said to each other: "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked on the road and explained the Scriptures?". And they set out at once and returned to Jerusalem where they found gathered together the eleven and those who were with them, saying, "It's true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon! ". They, in turn, told what had happened on the road and how he was known in the breaking of the bread.
