Reading from the Gospel, Monday, January 18 (click here)

   Monday, January 18
Daily Gospel (Mk 2, 18-22): As John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, they come and say to Jesus: "Why is it that John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast? ". Jesus said, "Can anything the guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? While they have the bridegroom can not fast. Days will come when they will be taken from the groom; then they will fast on that day.

"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old cloak; otherwise, the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse rent is made. No one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wine will burst the skins and spoil both the wine and the skins: but they put new wine into fresh wineskins. "
