  Daily Gospel (Lk 4, 21-30): At that time Jesus began to speak in the synagogue, "this scripture that you just heard, is fulfilled today." All spoke well of him and marveled at the gracious words that came from his mouth. They said, "Is not this the son of Joseph?". He said, "Surely I going to say the saying:" Physician, heal thyself. ' Everything we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in your country. " He added: "Truly I tell you, no prophet is accepted in his homeland. I tell you truly were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine throughout the country; and none of them was Elias sent but to a widow at Zarephath in Sidon. And many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed but Naaman the Syrian. "
