Reading from the Gospel, Saturday, 24 October (click here)

  Saturday, 24 October
Gospel (Lk 13, 1-9): At that time, some people arrived and told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. Jesus answered: "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? No, I assure you; and if you repent, you will all perish in the same way. Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think they were more guilty than all the others who dwelt in Jerusalem? No, I assure you; and if you repent, all likewise perish. "

He told them this parable: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. He said to the gardener, 'For three years I come seeking fruit on this fig ago and can not find it; cut it; Why will up the ground? '. But he replied, 'Lord, let one more year, until I dig around it and manure, should bear fruit next year; and if not, then cut it. '"
