Reading from the Gospel, Monday, October 5 (click here)

 Monday, October 5
Gospel (Lk 10, 25-37): At that time, a teacher of the law got up and said to test Jesus, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?". He said, "What is written in the law? How do you read? ". He replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself. " He said to him: "You have answered. Do that and you will live. "

But he wanted to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?". Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him, they were leaving him half dead. Coincidentally, going down that road a priest and saw him, he took a detour. Likewise, a Levite who passed by the place and saw him a rodeo. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came near him; and seeing him had compassion; and he came and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine; and set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, Take care of him and if you spend more, will pay you when I return. Which of these three do you think was neighbor unto him that fell among the robbers? ". He said: "He that showed mercy on him." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
