Reading from the Gospel, Monday, October 26 (click here)

  Monday, October 26
Gospel (Lk 13, 10-17): At that time, Jesus was a Saturday teaching in a synagogue, and there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen; She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. When Jesus saw her, he called her and said, "Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity." And he laid his hands. And immediately she straightened up and praised God.

But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people: "There are six days when you can work; so come these days to cure you, not on the Sabbath. " The Lord replied, "Hypocrites! Do not you untie of the manger on the Sabbath you all your ox or his ass to take them to water? And this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound eighteen years ago, was not well loosed from this bond on the Sabbath? ". And when he said these things, all his adversaries were confused while everyone was happy with the wonders he worked.
