Gospel (Lk 14, 1-6): One Sabbath, Jesus went home to one of the leading Pharisees to eat, they were watching him. It was there before him, a man with dropsy. Then Jesus asked the lawyers and Pharisees, "Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath, or not?". But they were silent. Then he took him and healed him, and let him go. And they said, "Who of you is a son or an ox fallen into a pit on the Sabbath and do not take the time?". And they could not reply to this.
