Reading from the Gospel, Sunday 6 September (click here)

Day: Sunday, September 6
Gospel (Mk 7, 31-37): At that time Jesus left the region of Tyre and came again, by Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the Decapolis. We have a deaf man who also spoke with difficulty, and beg him to lay his hand on him. He, aside from the multitude, alone, he put his fingers in his ears and he spat and touched his tongue. And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said, "Ephphatha," which means "Be opened!". And his ears were opened, and at once the impediment of his tongue was loosened and he spoke correctly. Jesus charged them to tell no one. But the more he insisted, the more they proclaimed it. Their admiration was and said, "Everything he has done well; He makes the deaf hear and the mute speak. "
