Reading from the Gospel, Tuesday September 1 (click here)

Liturgical day: Tuesday September 1
Gospel (Lk 4, 31-37): At that time Jesus went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on Saturdays. They were amazed at his teaching, for he spoke with authority. It was in their synagogue a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out in a loud voice: "Ah! What we have with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? Be who you are: the Holy One of God. "Jesus then rebuked him saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him." And the devil, throwing in half, came out of him without hurting him. They came together in bewilderment, and asked each other, "What is this word? With authority and power he commands the unclean spirits and they come. "And his fame spread everywhere in the region.
