Reading from the Gospel, Tuesday August 18 (click here)

Liturgical Day: Tuesday August 18
Gospel (Mt 19, 23-30): At that time, Jesus told his disciples, "I assure you that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. I repeat, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. " Upon hearing this, the disciples were astonished, saying, "Then who can be saved?". Jesus looked at them and said, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Peter, speaking, said, "You see, we have left everything and followed you; What then? We shall receive. " Jesus said, "I tell you, you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man sits on his throne of glory, you yourselves will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my sake will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. But many that are first shall be last and the last, first. "
