Reading from the Gospel, Monday, August 24 (click here)

Liturgical day: Monday August 24: St. Bartholomew, Apostle
Gospel (Jn 1, 45-51): At that time, Philip found Nathanael and told him, "That which Moses wrote in the law, and the prophets, we have found, Jesus the son of Joseph, of Nazareth. " Nathanael answered him: "Nazareth! Can anything good?". Philip said, "Come and see." Nathanael approached Jesus and said it saw "There you have an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile." He tells Nathanael: "How do you know me?". Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel." Jesus replied: "Why I told you I saw you under the fig tree, you believe? You will see greater things. " And he added: "Truly, truly, I say to you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man."
