Reading from the Gospel, Thursday, July 9 (click here)

Liturgical day: Thursday, July 9
Gospel (Mt 10, 7-15): In that time Jesus said to his Apostles: "Go proclaiming that the kingdom of heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received; freely give. Do not gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses will ye study; nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor a staff; for the laborer deserves his keep. In the city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there until you leave. Upon entering the house, salute it. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And if you can not receive or your words, get out of the house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet. I tell you the day of judgment will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that city. "
