Liturgical day: Sunday July 26
 Gospel (Jn 6, 1-15): At that time, Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of ​​Galilee, that of Tiberias, and many people followed him because they saw the signs which he did on the sick. Jesus went up the mountain and sat there with his disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews. When Jesus raising his eyes and see that many people came to him and said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?". He said this to test him, for He knew what he was doing. Philip answered, "Two hundred denarii are not enough for everyone to take a little." He tells one of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, "Here is a boy with five barley loaves and two fish; but what is that among so many? ".

Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." There was much grass in the place. Men in number about five thousand is therefore sat down. Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were seated; so also the fish, as much as they wanted. When they were filled, he said to his disciples, "Gather up the fragments left over, that nothing be lost." So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten.

When the people saw the sign he had done, he said, "This is truly the prophet who is coming into the world." Jesus realizing that they would come and take him by force to make him king, fled back to the hills alone.
