Reading from the Gospel, Friday July 10 (click here)

Liturgical day: Friday July 10
Gospel (Mt 10, 16-23): At that time, Jesus told his disciples: "Behold I send you as sheep among wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they shall deliver to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues; and for my sake you will be brought before governors and kings for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak. What you have to speak ye in that hour. Because it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

It shall provide the brother killed brother and father to son; children will rise against parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by all because of my name; but he who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one city flee to another, and if it also persecute you, go away to another. I tell you not have gone over the cities of Israel before the Son of man cometh. "

Your brother in Christ, Father Santiago
