Reading from the Gospel, Wednesday June 3 (click here)

Liturgical Day: Wednesday June 3
Gospel (Mk 12, 18-27): At that time, he came to Jesus some Sadducees, who deny that there is no resurrection, and asked him, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no child, his brother must take the wife and raise up seed to his brother. There were seven brothers; the first took a wife, died childless; also the second took her and died childless; and the third likewise. None of the seven left any children. After all, the woman also died. In the resurrection, when they rise, of which of them will be women? For the seven they had her to wife. "

Jesus answered, "Are not you a wrong is that, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God? For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses in the burning bush, how God said to him: I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? It is not a God of the dead but of the living. You are in a great error. "

Your brother in Christ, Father Santiago
