Reading from the Gospel, Thursday June 4 (click here)

Liturgical day: Thursday June 4
Gospel (Mk 12, 28-34): At that time, one of the scribes came and asked, "What is the first commandment of all?". Jesus answered, "The first is: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord, and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength '. The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no one greater than these "commandment.

He told the scribe, "All right, Teacher; you are right to say that He is unique and there is no other besides Him, and love Him with all your heart, with all the intelligence and with all the strength, and love your neighbor as yourself is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices ".

And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him: "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And no one dared to question him.
