Reading from the Gospel, Thursday June 11 (click here)

Liturgical day: Thursday June 11
Gospel (Mt 5, 20-26): At that time, Jesus told his disciples: "If your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

"You have heard that the ancients were told, 'You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment '. But I say: Anyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; but to call your brother "fool" will be liable to the council; and calling you a "renegade" will be liable to the hell of fire.

"Therefore if you bring your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go first be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. Ponte quickly on good terms with your opponent while you are with him on the way; lest your adversary deliver thee to the judge and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. I say to you will not get out until you have paid the last penny. "

Your brother in Christ, Father Santiago
