Gospel (Jn 17, 1-11a): At that time Jesus lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. And according to the power that you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. This is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, whom you have sent, Jesus Christ. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to perform.

"Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory I had with you before the world was. I have manifested thy name to the men whom you have given me the world to take them. They were yours and you have given me; and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you; because the words you gave me I have given them, and they have accepted them and have truth that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

"I pray for them; pray not for the world but for those you have given me, for they are yours; and everything I have is yours and yours is mine; and I am glorified in them. I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. "
