Reading from the Gospel, Friday March 13 (click here)

Liturgical Day: Friday March 13
Gospel (Mk 12, 28b-34): At that time, one of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him this question: "What is the first of all the commandments?". Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord, and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength '. The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no greater than these "commandment.

He told the scribe, "Okay, Master; you're right in saying that He is unique and there is no other besides Him, and love Him with all your heart, with all the intelligence and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices ". And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said: "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And no one else dared to question him.
