Liturgical Day: Saturday March 7
Gospel (Lk, 15 1-3.11-32): At that time, seeing that all the publicans and sinners drew near to hear Jesus, the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with they. Then he told them this parable. "A man had two sons; And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.' And he divided unto them his living. A few days after the younger son gathered everything and went to a distant country where he squandered his property in loose living. When he had spent everything, a severe famine in that country, and he began to be in want. So he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed swine. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him. And he came to himself, he said, 'How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough, while I perish here with hunger! I will arise and go to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I no longer deserve to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants. ' And he arose, and came to his father.
"While he still way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran, and fell at his neck and kissed him. The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I no longer deserve to be called your son. ' But the father said to his servants, 'Bring quickly the best robe, and put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and make merry, for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and has been found '. And they began to celebrate.
"His elder son was in the field and at the back, as he approached the house, he heard music and dancing; He called one of the servants and asked what this meant. He said, 'He's back your brother and your father has killed the fatted calf because he has him back safe and sound'. He became angry and refused to go. He left his father, and begged. But he answered his father, 'many years do I serve thee, and never ceased to fulfill your orders, but I've never given me a kid to have a party with my friends; ! and now that this son of yours came, who has devoured your living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf 'But he said,' Son, thou art ever with me, and everything I have is yours; but we should celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and has been found. '"
