Liturgical Day: Sunday December 7
Gospel (Mk 1, 1-8): Beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God. As is written in Isaiah the prophet: "Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who will prepare your way. The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. "
John came baptizing in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. Went out to him all the region of Judea and all Jerusalem, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
John wore a garment of camel; and he ate locusts and wild honey. He proclaimed, "After me comes he who is mightier than I; and I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the thong of his sandals. I have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. "
Your brother in Christ, Father Santiago
