Gospel (Lk 2, 36-40): There was also a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, elderly; after marriage she had lived with her husband seven years and a widow until she was eighty-four years; he departed not from the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayers. As at that very hour she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
So they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.
