Liturgical Day: Saturday November 22
Gospel (Lk 20, 27-40): At that time Jesus approaching some of the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, and asked, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies, which he was married and had no children, his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother. There were seven brothers; the first took a wife, died childless; and took second, then the third; likewise the seven also died childless. Finally the woman also died. This, therefore, to which of them will be women in the resurrection? For the seven had her to wife. "
Jesus said, "The children of this world take wives and husbands; but those who are judged worthy of a place in the world and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, nor can they die because they are like angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed it in the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. He is not a God of the dead but of the living; for all live to Him. "
Some of the scribes said to him, "Teacher, you have spoken well." Well, no longer dared to ask him anything.
Your brother in Christ, Father Santiago
