Reading from the Gospel of Today, November 14

Liturgical Day: Friday November 14
    Gospel (Lk 17, 26-37): At that time Jesus said to his disciples: "As it was in the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man. Eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark; the flood came and destroyed them all. The same, as in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; But the day Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. The same will happen on the Day when the Son of Man is revealed.

"That day, which is on the housetop, with his possessions at home, not go down to collect; and similarly, which is in the field not turn back. Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, on that night there shall be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left; There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left. "And they said, "Where, Lord?". He answered them, "Wherever the body is, there the vultures will gather."
