Gospel Reading Today, September 16

Liturgical Day: Tuesday September 16
Gospel (Luke 7, 11-17): At that time, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and with him a great crowd. As he approached the town gate, drew to bury the dead, the only son of his mother, a widow, to whom large crowd from the city. When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said, "Do not cry." And he came and touched the bier. The bearers halted, and he said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." The dead man sat up and began to speak, and He gave it to her mother. Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, "A great prophet has appeared among us," and "God has visited his people." And what was said about Him spread throughout Judea and all the surrounding region.
