Liturgical Day: July 27, Sunday
Gospel (Mt 13, 44-52): At that time Jesus said to the crowds, "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found, returned to hide treasure, and joy which gives, he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
"Also, the kingdom of heaven to a merchant looking for fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he has and buys it.
"Also, the kingdom of heaven to a net cast into the sea and gathered fish of every kind; and when full, they drew to shore, sit, and collected in baskets and throw the good the bad. So be at the end of the world: The angels will come and separate the wicked from among the righteous, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
"Have you understood all this? '. They said, 'Yes.' And He said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his coffers the new and the old."
