Today's Gospel reading, July 23
Liturgical Day: July 23, Wednesday
Gospel (Mt 13, 1-9): At that time Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea. And so many people gathered around him, who was going up to sit in a boat, and the whole crowd stood on the shore. And he told them many things in parables. He said: "Once a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path; the birds came and ate them. Others fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately sprang no depth of earth; but when the sun rose they were scorched, and they had no root, they withered away. Others fell among thorns; the thorns grew up and choked. Others fell on good soil and brought forth grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears, let him hear. "
