Today's Gospel reading

Liturgical Day: December 15, Sunday
Gospel ( Mt 11, 2-11): At that time, John, who had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent his disciples to ask him, "Are you he who is to come, or should we look for other?'. Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind see and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news ,and blessed is he who takes no offense at me."

When they departed, Jesus began to speak to the people John, "What went ye out into the wilderness? A reed shaken by the wind? What did you see, if not? A smartly dressed man? No! Those who wear fine clothes are in kings' palaces. So what did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I say, and more than a prophet . This is he of whom it is written: 'Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.'Truly, I say that has not arisen among those born of women a greater than John the Baptist, yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."

Your brother in Christ, Father Santiago
