Gospel ( Mt 24, 37-44 ): At that time Jesus said to his disciples: "As in the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of man. Because as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and did not realize until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of man. Then shall two be in the field: one will be taken and the other left, two women grinding at the mill: one will be taken, the other left.
"Watch therefore, for ye know what day your Lord is coming. But know this: if the householder had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched and not let his house be broken. Therefore you also be ready, because the moment you do not expect, the Son of Man will come."
