Today's Gospel reading

Liturgical Day: November 17, Sunday
Gospel (Luke 21, 5-19): At that time, as some say, about the Temple, it was adorned with beautiful stones and gifts, he said: "That which ye behold, the days will come that no stone will be left unturned to not be thrown down."

They asked him, "Teacher, when will this be? And what will be the sign that all these things are to happen?'. He said, "Look , do not be fooled. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am ' and ' the time is near .' Refuse to join them. When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be terrified, because they need to happen first, but the end is not."

Then he said: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, plagues and famines in various places, there will be terrifying, and great signs from heaven. But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, dragging you before kings and governors for my name, that will happen for you to witness. Propose therefore in your hearts not to meditate, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which can not withstand or contradict your opponents. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you will be hated by all because of my name. But not perish nor a hair of your head. By your perseverance you will secure your lives."

Your brother in Christ, Father Santiago
