Reading from the Gospel, Friday January 30 (click here)

Liturgical Day: Friday January 30
Gospel (Mk 4, 26-34): At that time, Jesus told people: "The kingdom of God is like a man should cast seed into the ground; should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows, he knows not how. The earth produces of itself; first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. And when the grain is ripe, at once he gets the sickle, because the harvest has come. "

And he said: "What we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will post? It is like a mustard seed that, when planted in the ground, is smaller than any seed that is sown in the earth; but once planted, grows vegetables and all becomes greater with such big branches that the birds nest in its shade. "And they announced the Word with many parables like these, as they could understand; not speak to them without a parable; but to his own disciples he explained everything in private.
