Gospel Reading Today, Oct. 17

Liturgical Day: Friday October 17
Gospel (Lk 12, 1-7): At that time, having met thousands of people, even stepped on one another, Jesus began to say unto his disciples first, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor hidden that shall not be known. Because whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body and after that can do no more. I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; Yes, I repeat: fear that. Not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Well, neither one of them is forgotten before God. Even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; worth more than many sparrows. "

Your brother in Christ, Father Santiago
